Conrad is asleep in his office, waking a few hours early. He's confused. Feeling the drop in temperature and hearing the cries of the wild life out in the woods. He walks to the nearest window of the Broken Compass, his predatory side completely ill at ease towards the sight of the eclipse. He cautiously leaves to find Breakfast out in the Wilds.

Ido sits upon a rock, taking a mid-day break from his exploring around Banner's Rest. He ponders the balance of light and dark in the universe and finds pleasure in a brief moment of understanding.

Seras briefly pauses in her studies, feeling the shadow fall over her as she sits on the large rock besides the fire. A shiver runs through her, the hair on the back of her neck standing up. Confused, she scribbles a note in her book, before standing up and heading inside.

Bait pauses in her attempt to lure a tunnel rat out with a ration potato, wondering why the sun is gone. Muttering something about sorcerors and their weird tricks, she stomps off into the tunnel, not wanting to be around when the trick ends.
Seras Andromeda Lux, Priestess of Jaejal
Bait, fuckin awesome stabber of everything.

Zahir sketches the occurrence in his book and writes down some notes and performs tests to see if the eclipse has any impact on his elemental spells. Afterwards he goes down into the woods and sits by the river waiting for something.

There was a rather daring break-in at the Landriga Bay barracks, but no culprit was found. Oddly enough, nobody and nothing went missing, except for two lunch pails.

Olexelo glanced curiously at the sky, then around at the reactions of the nearest townsfolk.

"Mmm, am optimist thinking day will return in due course. Any think sun will go out for more than, ah, a double-night before return? I will wager five varris it will return sooner."

Flynn turned on his side and shifted, enough that the cool breeze from the cog-fan in the window struck more of his face, but not enough to wake.

It was Fieldsday, and as was his custom on the day of farming, Lord Uisge did not work at all, as a matter of principle. As his supplies would not yet regularly support drinking for an entire night and day, he slept, instead.

It seemed the best use of his time.

Turning aside from yet another false path through the untamed brush well north of town, and about to try the next possible route, Periwinkle paused, and looked around. The forest was growing oddly quiet, as both the birds' chirping and the chatter of the sleeping-beetles began to taper off. Was it...darker?

He squinted up at the sun, which was maybe dimmer, but still too bright to look at. But when the edge of a half-grey cloud passed overhead, he saw it - a disc gouged out of the bright circle, half-consuming it, and growing, slowly but surely. As if whatever fire burned there had finally run its course, and was petering out along a neat edge, leaving dull ash the color of the cloud.

"Oh, come on," he complained, to no one in particular. With no idea of what fresh hell this portended, he put his back against a sturdy tree and waited to see if the world was ending. But after a long moment of watching the darkness deepen and considering the immediate implications, he turned and climbed the tree as quickly as he could, sliding his chest out onto the thinnest branch he thought would still hold his weight. As the limb bowed under him, he clutched it tightly with his left hand and legs while drawing his dagger with his right. He tried, without notable success, to keep his breath even and his body still.

Even when an hour had passed, and - without other incident - the darkness had receded and the creatures of the forest had returned to their daily business, it was some time later still that the Pixie managed to quiet his shaking enough to climb down safely.

Astrid is quietly stalking a deer in the forest and notices the sudden strange darkness. "Shit, this is like the shadow sea all over again..." she nervously thinks and makes sure her dagger is in quick reach. When the daylight resumes she wonders if this will come to be a problem later, and then returns to hunting the deer.

Ulgrim is working in the mines, he feels a strange shift in the air, a bristling of his beard, his lantern gutters for a moment even without wind. Cautiously, he draws his hammer in his off hand eyeing the tunnels for movement.
